Hidden Gem Water Park Just One Hour From Medina County

We are only 2 weeks into summer break, and already the kids are at each others throats and the dreaded "I'm bored" is being heard throughout the day. Somehow our pool, XBox, and the mountains of toys in every room of the house just aren't enough to keep everyone occupied. Thankfully, we had a trip to Comfort Inn Splash Harbor in Bellville, OH planned to get the family out of the house for a couple of days.  

Just one hour down 71 south from Brunswick, near Mansfield, there is a hidden gem for family fun. Comfort Inn Splash Harbor's main draw is their recently renovated attraction-filled water park. "Bored" was not a word I heard during our stay. 

My two little guys (3 & 5)  loved splashing in the kiddie pool (12-18 inches deep) and practicing swimming in their life jackets in the big pool. The big kids (8 &10) kept busy shooting hoops in the deeper pool (4ft at the deepest part). All 4 enjoyed the medium-sized water slide, the little ones in mom & dad's laps and the big ones on their own. The splash pad area was also great for all 4 kids. There were sprinklers to run through and play in and buckets of water up above for the more daring kids to stand under and get soaked. The pool area had ample tables for everyone to park their things and towels were provided. But let me tell you the best part - the water was WARM! There have been so many times I have wanted to take the kids swimming and have some fun with them only to sit on the side of the pool because it's freezing! Not at Splash Harbor. The room temperature of the water park is warm and the water is, too. 

After a few hours of swimming we had to practically drag the kiddos out of the water to eat some dinner - there is a restaurant right across the parking lot-super convenient to not have to load everyone up in the car-you can just walk!

Now for the room - the hotel was able to accommodate my family of six in one suite. 3 beds, a fold out couch, desk, and full kitchen with seating area were awaiting us upon our arrival (not all of the rooms have all of these amenities, make sure you check when making your reservation). The kids loved all the space and this germophobe mom loved how clean it was! You can tell the decor and the furniture are newer and everything is very well kept. The kitchen was stocked with dishes, pots & pans, coffee pot, toaster, microwave, oven, cooktop, refrigerator, and dishwasher. There were tons of towels in the bathroom along with a note that the hotel will provide you with any toiletries you may have left at home. 

Once we were finished swimming for the night, we spent some time in the small arcade near the lobby. The kids played a few arcade games and some air hockey. There is also a pool table for your family to enjoy.

Of course after a day of fun in the water everyone slept well, and we awoke to the free continental breakfast. My kids loved making their own waffles and and picking from the large selection of filling breakfast foods. 

As you can see, the whole family had a great time at Comfort Inn Splash Harbor in Bellville, OH. Stay with them when you get the chance - you won't be disappointed!
