So Much Fun at Sew Much Happens!

July 29, 2018

When I was growing up, I was shown by my mom how to do some basic sewing.  This included hemming, taking in of pants and fixing holes, but that is about it.  Now that I am an adult, I am trying to teach myself more.  My son recently came to me and asked to show him how to sew, and needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised, but dumbfounded.  I barely knew anything myself, how was I going too teach someone else?!

I found out that Sew Much Happens not only does private sewing lessons, but they do corporate and special order embroidering, camps and kids sewing classes as well! It is located in Medina, just West of the square on West Liberty Street.

I took my 9 year old son and 6 year old daughter to an Emoji pillow making class, and to say they loved it is an understatement!  They can't wait to go back and make more projects!  They are so proud of the pillows that they have sewn {mostly} by themselves and they show them off to everyone.

The class started with practice.  Each child was given two sheets of special paper to sew on so that they can learn how to do straight lines, squares and circles.  After practice, they each picked two pre-cut Emoji shapes that they wanted to sew.  While they were sewing, Miss Kris was very patient as she came around the room to help and guide each child through the steps of their projects.     Class maximums are 6, to make sure each student gets enough time with and support from the instructor.

I highly recommend sewing classes at Sew Much Happens!  My son can't wait to go back, and I may take a few classes myself.   You won't want to miss the next kids class coming up,  the kids will be making unicorn pillows!  Sign up early to reserve your space, and tell Miss Kris that Macaroni Kid Medina sent you!!
