Medina Square Farmers Market Begins May 15

May 6, 2021

Main Street Medina, in partnership with the City of Medina, is pleased to announce that the Medina Square Farmers Market (MSFM) 2021 season will open on Saturday, May 15, and will continue through October 16, 2021. Market hours will be 9am – 1pm. The market is sponsored by Amy Hoes Howard Hanna Realty ( https://amyhoes.howardhanna.com/ ), with additional support from MTD Products (www.mtdproducts.com ). Cleveland Clinic Medina Hospital ( https://my.clevelandclinic.org/locations/medina-hospital ) is the 2021 Family Health and Wellness sponsor. The majority of participating vendors accept SNAP/Ohio Direction and Produce Perks tokens, available for purchase at each market.

Now in its 16th year, the 2021 Market will showcase 45+ vendors selling locally grown or produced, consumable products from within a 35-mile radius of Medina. This year, the market has added some new vendors, increasing the diversity of product available. Free public parking is available in the County parking deck on S. Jefferson Street between E. Liberty and E. Washington, in the City parking deck near 117 W. Liberty, and on-street parking around the Square.

“I’m thrilled to expand product options at the market this year,” shared Angela Mansier, market manager. “In 2020, we really engaged with customers through numerous surveys and in-person conversations, and asked them what they wanted to see at the market. We’re happy to have broadened the market to include several new bakeries with really unique products, gluten-free breads and baking mixes, and roasted nuts and nut butters. We’ve added a few new produce vendors with micro-greens and edible flowers, heirloom vegetables, and a few more protein vendors. We’ll even have chicken patties this year!”

The market will continue to follow State-wide COVID-19 safety precautions, which include social distancing and sanitation measures to protect vendors and customers, larger vendor spaces to accommodate separate product and sales areas, and clearly marked entrance and exits to maintain social distancing and pedestrian traffic patterns. If COVID-19 operating restrictions are lifted this season, the market will incorporate live musical entertainment, and a cooking show demonstration program with Kristin Gambaccini of perfectlydestressed.com, and Armstrong . It is suggested that potential event guests like Medina Farmers Market on Facebook for the latest updates.
